WHO AM I?

I'm Grant. I live in Leeds.

I started playing guitar and bass when I was 9 years old and was in a gigging band by 13. We booked shows wherever we could get our hands on them and cut our teeth in the London music scene.

Music lessons at school never really did anything for me. I was into rock and pop, but school was all nursery rhymes, recorders and classical music. So I got lessons from a guy called Peter Sills who revealed the path to me with songs by AC/DC, Greenday, Foo Fighters, Nirvana and other hard rock bands.

He showed me the ancient secrets of the power chord and how you could play almost anything once you'd unlocked that one technique.

Then I discovered Metallica and 80s thrash metal. That's when my guitar playing took off. The sheer fun and musicality of James Hetfield's guitar parts got me hooked.

Palm muting, alternate picking, string bending, natural harmonics. This music had it all. I suddenly felt that the guitar had come to life, all within my hands.

​

But no single genre or band reigns supreme. Over the years I developed a love for all music. From folk and rock to indie and metal. If it had a guitar in it, I was all in.

I honed my skills across these genres, creating a style that is as much David Gilmore, Jerry Garcia and Frank Zappa as it is Papa Het or Claudio Sanchez.
